The user’s keywords are typically shown in boldface when they appear in the search results (sometimes close synonyms are shown in boldface as well). Just because long form content is meant to be educational and informative, doesn’t mean it has to be dry. Incorporating humor and writing in a conversational tone are strategies for making long form content more readable and interesting. Like most SEO professionals, nothing wrecks my digestive system more than an organic traffic drop with no apparent reason. A small dip in search traffic is no immediate cause for concern (it may just be a temporary drop in consumer interest); but if that dip lasts for more than a few weeks or turns into a more significant drop, you’ll need to troubleshoot the problem to see what’s going on.
The more content you produce, the more organic traffic and inbound links you will receive
Between 2011 & 2015 Google released random, major updates to its organic search algorithm. But the search engine giant has attained a solid foundation, the importance and number of updates has decreased. You should make
sure that all of your websites (if you have more than one) link to each other, as this search engines can often base page ranking on how many links you have with other sites. This is especially the case if the two websites have similar content and share major keywords. At the same time, you also need to consider something called ‘LSI’ or ‘Latent Semantic Indexing’. This is basically a fancy term that explains how Google now understands actual meaning rather than just looking to match words. The way it does this is at least partly by looking for synonyms and related terms when trying to answer questions. In short, don’t just use the exact keyphrase but be sure to use lots of relevant and related language. The direction that you take to improve the visibility of your site on the web should be decided upon by analysing the current state of your website, the audience you are targeting, your business objectives and any previous SEO work that has been carried out.
Content Resources
Ensure the number of visits and new visitors from within your target market is increasing. The best way
to build links is to not build links. I’ve worked for companies in the past that don’t have to ask for them, they just flow in from press, customer blogs, their awesome blog posts, etc. If this is an option (and we’ll go over a couple of ways to make it more likely) you’re in a great place. Opening paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than one or two sentences. Make sure the thing you’re writing about is mentioned in the first sentence (i.e. your focus keyword or phrase). I like to bold the first paragraph to make it distinct. Another way to find places you can build links is by using a link intersection tool. These find sites that link to “competitor a” and “competitor b” but not to you. Theoretically, if they link to both of your competitors, they should be willing to link to you. Moz, Ahrefs, LunaMetrics and others have link intersection tools that work quite well.
The headings for your homepage
The better people with relevant blogs know you (through social sites, forums, email, etc.) the more likely they’ll be to link to your site and to share your content. Influencer marketing is a great way to build a diversified traffic portfolio, because influencers have an effect on multiple traffic channels. Search Engine Optimization is all about making your website more visible to people who are using search engines to look for your product, brand, or services. Since Google only wants to deliver the best possible results to its users, it will push sites with strong engagement up in the search engine results pages (SERPs). Gaz Hall, from
SEO Hull, had the following to say: "People like to be engaged and feel involved. Having a question as a title will start a conversation by piquing people’s interests. They will want to know what the answer is. Doing research on your targeted audience will help you come up with questions to ask. (Ideally, they should be questions members of your audience would naturally ask.)"
How Google handles it
Creative, interesting, and informational articles that really speak to an audience are much more likely to get shared, repinned, and re-tweeted. The best way to tap into that type of influence is to keep things relevant and specific. The information you are putting out there should actually help people by teaching them or reminding them of something important. All search engines
deliver results based on relevancy and popularity, but how they determine what’s relevant is what differentiates them from each other. All search engines crawl and index the web, but each have their own algorithms (super complex systematical equations) for ordering the information. The more a site is appealing to humans, the more search engine like it. Websites with straightforward navigation tend to win over visitors than those with a messy URL structure and content organization. Mobile SEO is – just like regular SEO – all about making sure your site is crawlable and findable. Also, you need stellar performance, great content and a flawless UX.
